The decor was.... wow. I am all for reusing perfectly usable furniture but just rolling some interior house paint over it doesn't really appeal to me. Some of the seating was difficult to use because the tables are so close together. It is apparent the restaurant is family run and the patrons love to go there.
The owner was very friendly to everyone. It was a very busy Saturday evening. It was actually very chaotic. I felt like I never got the full attention of the cashier, but everyone seemed to be happy to be there. There were a lot of regular customers there. They could have used additional help.
I felt like I received a large portion of food. I ordered 2 piece white chicken ($11.99) and 2 piece catfish ($10.99) dinners. Each came with two sides and cornbread. In addition I decided to add one crab cake on the side just to try it out. I was quite shocked when my one side crab cake cost $8.99! I cold have gotten the crab cake combo for $10.99 and it included one side and a drink. Overall I spent $38 on dinner.
I loved the macaroni and cheese, sweet potatoes and cornbread. I would consider going there again for those. The other two sides were collared greens and mashed potatoes. They were average. I personally felt my chicken was a bit over cooked and dry. The crab cake was good but not $8.99 good. The catfish was huge and flakey.
Overall I did not have a bad experience, but I would not go out of my way to return.
