| - I don't give 5 stars often (look at my other reviews), but this place is the best. That's going to mean different things to different people, but there are a few things that do it for me.
1. It's not just for one type of workout guru (e.g. meat heads, endurance junkies, yogis, etc.) Every other place I've been to tries to put you in your box. At Recess you can do what you want to do, and you'll go further than you thought you could.
2. I wish someone would pay me to workout, but that's not happening, so I need to have a day job. I also have a family, community activities, church, and I like to have some fun in there too. All in all, I have no time. You won't find a more efficient workout than what you get at Recess. I have been there for over a year now, have never done the same workout, and leave wasted and ready to take on the day every time. It's what keeps me coming back.
3. Katie and her staff just get it and they get you. They manage every class and person differently. They learn what your goals are, what you're capable of, and then push you harder than you think you can go. I just won't do that on my own. P.S. Go read the instructor bios on the website. They're all very well accomplished themselves. Besides, who wants to learn from someone who can't practice what they preach?
4. After you do this for a while, you really become part of a community. (Queue the cheese..I know.) It's true though. People who come here like to work hard and don't have time to mess around. It's easy to bond with like-minded people, and that's not something I anticipated getting when I signed up. Even if it's just for a few minutes before or after class, it's good stuff.
5. It's just a nice facility with lots of stuff. Showers, towels, sauna, healthy snacks, coffee, gear...whatever you need. I've been to some nasty gyms, but this place is always really clean and has whatever you need.
If that's not enough, just read the other reviews. Oh and I'll see you there...I'm there 5x/week.
