| - I really wanted to love this studio. I have been practicing yoga for over 20 years and have been searching for a non-heated class in the 3:00-4:00 time frame. I was thrilled to see a 3:30 non-heated class offered here . . . except that it isn't non-heated. When I entered the room it was very hot. The instructor said it would cool off (I assume there had been a heated class in the space previously), but it barely cooled down throughout the 1:15 class. And then she turned the heat back on during savasana. I actually teared-up lying there on my mat because I felt so sick and misled and disappointed. I have a thyroid issue that limits my ability to regulate my body temperature, so heated classes make me ill and can be potentially dangerous. I am an experienced yogi, but had to spend much of this class fanning myself and drinking water and didn't get the full benefit of the session. Yes I could have left the room, but I wanted to give the class a chance and try to wait for the room to cool down. I would not have tried the class had I not been misled by the website into thinking it wouldn't be hot in the room. Now I am sitting in my car in the parking lot, nursing a headache and trying to get my body temperature balanced enough to drive safely. So that students can make informed choices, I urge you to make it clear on your schedule that this class stays warm from a previous class and that you intentionally turn on the heat during savasana to prep for the next class.
Any hope of non-heated options for the new Summerlin location? And will there be windows in the space? I agree with another reviewer that the windowless space here feels like a crypt. Even without the heat, I wouldn't return because of the lack of natural light. I also second the unfriendliness at the front desk. Sour looks from everyone. No smiles. No hellos. They come across like they don't like working there. Just my observation. I could have caught them in an off moment, but it was my first time here and no one warmly welcomed me. A girl did walk me to the general direction of the lockers and classroom, but it didn't feel welcoming.
There's a lot of potential here. Aside from there being no windows, it's a beautiful space - but it's missing some heart. Vegas needs a soulful, friendly studio with options for all types. Not everyone wants heated classes. Really. And people like windows.
