  • Blue Banana would get my vote for the best gift-shop in the city. It has a really open, bright layout; it's very down-to-earth, with plenty of organic/ecological/locally-handmade things (and plenty of craft-supplies, including grab-bags of leftover fabric, yarn, and other odds and ends); and the selection is unparalleled. If you have any interest whatsoever in jewellery, indie-fashion, tea, retro-ish kids' toys, handwoven textiles, playful kitchen gadgets, stickers, magnets, pretty walking-sticks, gift-books, funny napkins, maple everything, nice stationery, British candy, and so on, go have a look.
