| - Let me start by saying I was a bit apprehensive about dining at Tonto Grill. My husband and I ate here perhaps 8 years ago and cannot recall anything memorable. In addition, some of the reviews here gave me pause, however, the three other diners and I were exceptionally happy with our dining experience here.
The service - friendly, professional and attentive. The staff were every thing you want in a fine dining experience. Nice job Nicole and Devon.
We started off with calamari and crab cakes. We really enjoyed our appetizers, particularly the crab cakes layered on roasted chili slaw. The slaw was a wonderful compliment to the crab cakes which had a beautifully crusted outer layer. We really enjoyed the combination of flavors and textures.
For our main courses, two of us had the walleye pike, one had the filet, and another had the seared scallops. As I was taking my first bite of my walleye, I heard a unison of mmmmm around the table as the other 3 diners took their first bites. The flavors of each protein and its accompanying vegetable side were absolutely delectable. I had the opportunity to sample all the entrees - each was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. We spoke with the Chef Miguel to extend our thanks and congratulations on such a remarkable and enjoyable meal.
To top off the entrees we each ordered a dessert - lemon meringue pie, buttermilk chocolate cake, chocolate coconut cake and creme brûlée. I would consider the desserts all A+ as everyone finished theirs (except me who could not get another bite in).
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here except for one small misstep - the coffee - which was way too strong. It was an exceptional meal and we will certainly recommend Tonto Grill and Chef Miguel.
