| - Outstanding review for Gorilla Builders! I have contracted two projects with Jeff, both were great! The second job, I contacted Jeff to build a large detached garage. From our first conversation on the phone he was respectful and treated me like a valued customer. He didn't pressure me or dismiss me throughout the research phase. From day one I have been impressed by his customer service skills. Every phone call, every email, Jeff was prompt and ensured my needs were met. Yes, Jeff is a busy person and has a huge business, but he always answered my questions and returned my messages to my satisfaction. If you are skeptical, ask him for references. I contacted 3 of his previous clients and they were all very happy with his work and had nothing bad to say about him. I agree!
Planning Phase: I designed my garage with the assistance from Jeff's engineering people. While it did take time to finalize, Jeff ensured every request and every detail was discussed and covered to my liking. It took time; however, in the end I am very happy with our design. We had difficulties getting the permits to clear with the county, but with persistence and PATIENCE, it all worked out. From the first day we signed the contract to the day permits were approved was 117 days. Yes, there were problems, but at every step Jeff expedited the process and we moved forward. Patience and communication is vital in this stage. Jeff worked all the issues in a timely manner. The contract Jeff provided was very simple and he does a good job to cover all aspects of details, conflict resolution and terms of responsibility.
Building Phase: Once the county permits were approved, the building moved pretty fast. From the day we broke ground to the day the garage passed the final inspection and I gave Jeff my last check was 17 weeks (119 days). Keep in mind, several times we were on hold waiting on county inspectors. Jeff and his crew did a great job coordinating, communicating, and ensuring I was informed of the process. His guys were professional, courteous, and very skilled in their trades.
Were there issues? Sure, there were a few problems along the way but nothing out of the ordinary. Whenever I had a concern, Jeff promptly fixed it and made things right. I never once had a problem that was not corrected. This is my first build and my first time hiring a contractor for such a large job. I am very happy with the results and not ONE PENNY over the quote I signed the contract for. Impressive.
The best reflection of Jeff's dedication came when a massive monsoon micro-burst almost destroyed the garage in the early stages of framing. Since the trusses were not installed, the structure almost collapsed from the 50+ mph winds. This was a Sunday evening at 6:20 pm. I called Jeff in a panic telling him the garage was about to fall. Within 30 minutes he showed up with 5 of his guys and 4 trucks to save the garage! On a Sunday night, after hours, these guys dropped everything and showed up to save the structure. They battled mud, rain and winds. They worked over 3 hours and ensured the structure would not fall if anymore winds came. The next day, they came out and reframed and fixed the damaged sections. I have never seen a business so dedicated than this. If this doesn't describe how focused Jeff and his team are to their customers I don't know what would be. I would definitely use Gorilla Builders again. They are top-notch and a one of a kind, family owned American company. No business is perfect. It's when the unforeseen happens and people drop everything to help you on a Sunday evening that defines excellence!
