  • Air Canada is THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER HAD THE DISPLEASURE OF DEALING WITH. I flew from Tampa to Thunder Bay and 2 of my 3 checked luggage items were destroyed. The zipper and handle of my suitcase were removed, this caused the front pocket to open, get damaged and I lost an iphone charger. Also, I had a fishing rod holder checked as well and the top end cover was completely removed. Amazingly the fishing rods were not damaged. This case was brand new. It cost $80 US, the suitcase cost $200 and the iphone charger was $20. I told the Air Canada baggage person in Thunder Bay and he supposedly filed a claim but when I called June 14th the person I spoke with couldn't find it. In addition to my items being destroyed I called Air Canada on June 2nd the day before my flight and was told my fishing rod holder and suitcase would cost $60 to check. At the airport I was charged $160. I had to call and get a refund for that. On my return trip Air Canada lost one of my bags which caused me to miss my connection. I ran to the gate and the plane was still sitting there at the jet way in Montreal but they wouldn't let me board even though it was Air Canada's fault I was late. Then when I called June 14th to explain my baggage situation I had to wait 45 minutes for someone to answer the phone. Then I had the displeasure of dealing with the most incompetent customer service rep on the planet. She was a complete idiot. I had to repeat every single piece of information 2-6 times and at the end of it all she told me I had to get on this website and file a claim which I did. I fly a lot on Delta, American and Southwest. Flying Air Canada was BY FAR THE WORST EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD. I have called customer service 6 times so far. Every time I am on hold for 40-60 minutes, then the customer service rep comes on and either hangs up on me or tells me I cannot speak to anyone who processes the claims and I will just have to wait longer. It has been 2 months so far. I am out of patience with Air Canada. Whatever you do DO NOT FLY AIR CANADA!!!
