  • Unprofessional sums it up. If I were Mazda I would shut down this dealership as it gives not only Mazda a bad name but also the Earnhardt franchise. We paid full MSRP price on a 2016 Mazda MX5 Club. The buying experience wasn't the best - incredible unorganized - but we gave them the benefit of the doubt as the salesperson was extremely inexperienced. Two years later we decided to buy a different car and called and set up an appointment with the same salesperson to see if they were interested in buying the car back - it only had 3200 miles on it. We arrived for the appointment and the same disorganization and unprofessionalism ensued. The salesperson got the manager to go out and inspect car - he liked what he saw and made an offer which was EXACTLY the same as Kelly Blue Book said for the PHOENIX AREA. We shook on it even though the manager, whom I had never met before, had still yet to introduce himself. They told me they would get a check cut and just wait a few minutes. After about 20 minutes they came back and said the GM didn't want to honor that amount and could I give them another two hours to think about it. So, first off, we had a deal we shook on WITH THE "MANAGER". He said he made a mistake and looked at wrong numbers. I don't believe it for a second since I used the Phoenix area code to also look up KBB values. Second, I asked how a manager could negotiate a price and then not actually have any authority to negotiate or honor anything. Third, I had an appointment and they knew exactly why I was coming in - don't you think they would have all coordinated and been prepared since they weren't exactly busy - I was the only one in there. A pathetic experience and Mazda should cut off this dealership as it is clearly incompetent and borders on unethical (you don't shake on a deal and them back out 15 minutes later). Why would such a small dealership even need a Manager and a General Manager - clearly the Manager has no authority. My advice - steer clear of this Mazda dealership and of Earnhardt. If your are dead set on a Mazda - go to REAL NO BULL dealership - Earnhardt Mazda is ALL BULL.
