| - I went here for the first time for happy hour with my wife, brother and sister-in-law. The venues in a really cool location in the Summerlin marketplace. Right above Fogo day ciao
The vibe is really cool, the music playing is alternative with a mix of top 40 and some old-school 90s tunes. The name and the Decour totally match;you walk in and you feel like you're in a science lab or library with chalkboards and comfortable seating. In the bar It's communal seating very long tables with 10-12 stools on either side. I would coin this as a bar, not a sports bar there was only one TV in the bar that I could see so if you want to watch the basketball games, you'll have to go someplace else. We sat in the bar for only about five minutes, before we even ordered drinks because they were going to allow us to have happy hour on the outdoor patio, which is delightful, great atmosphere, not as noisy as inside, the weather was warm and helpful service.
The first look; the menus were notebooks you would see in college, they had a small clipboard as well as a happy hour menu. The happy hour menu had 8 to 10 food options along with some wine and beer. They also had well drink specials to.
I tried just about everything on the appetizer menu, and was disappointed the ahi poke was bland, the PB&J sliders wasn't explained to me that that was actually a hamburger slider with peanut butter and jelly, just didn't go together for our tables liking. My wife loves pizza, so she ordered the margarita pizza, which didn't have enough cheese on it. The pizza sauce was a little spicy which both my wife and I like. I'm a huge hummus fan and was excited to try a white bean hummus to know what that really was, it was OK it needed a little salt to increase the flavor, just to me tasted flat.
There was no salt-and-pepper on the tables, I try to get a hold my waiter "Brandon" it wasn't his fault. I wanted to tell Brandon that the appetizers were mediocre at best and return the pb&j sliders but it was "good Friday" and I didn't want to be too picky and "thankful" but I had 6 appetizers and not one stood out. Oh that's not true, I did try the fried cauliflower which was probably the most appetizing appetizer. The service was very good they leave a water bottle at your table so I don't have to keep asking the waiter every time to fill my water glass cup, I really like that.
I wouldn't go back there for any of their food, if their happy hour appetizers are so boring I wouldn't expect the food to be any better. I would go back for a drink or have a glass of wine with my wife (no food), the brewery across the street at the redrock Casino has far better appetizers and 10 times the amount of choices.
Right before our party of four left I had to make a quick stop in the bathroom, I came out and did see one of the chalkboards talking about their specials I know there was a few errors I'm probably being too picky here but they said their beers for $4-7, I didn't see any beers on the menu that were $4, management should update their signage to properly address that the happy hour menu says.
