| - Pros:
- There's lots to see. From the primates to the big cats to the rainforest, you will definitely get a full day's worth of things to do.
- Great primate display. They have a very extensive array of primates to view and read about. I've been to what seems to be a bazillion zoos, and they had animals that I'd never seen before, so that was a nice surprise.
- The rainforest exhibit is terrific. All the plants and trees, along with the animals in as natural a display as one can create in captivity, make for an immersive experience. It's definitely the best part of the zoo.
- The complimentary shuttle between the primate building and the main entrance was very welcomed. Definitely take advantage of it if it's a hot day - the walk to the primate center is quite uphill.
- Tip: If you are a AAA/CAA member, go to a local AAA store to get discounted tickets. You'll save about $1.25 per ticket. Not much of a discount but it's definitely something.
Cons:
- It would have been nice to have more shuttles, since there's quite a bit of walking between other exhibits. Come with your walking shoes on.
- Some of the animals, especially the tigers, were pacing, which is indicative of a poorly-stimulated, boring and unhealthy existence. It would be nice if the zoo did something to help out with that.
Overall: A very nice place to take the family for a full day of animals and walking.
