| - After a battle of the "good's" we found ourselves at this joint.. literally a battle. Who would name businesses with the almost same title like that? Really?! MEH, I'll continue. SO, sitting up on the pool deck of our hotel we decided HEY let's get a massage.. now we found this spot thanks to fellow Yelpers in the area who've reviewed the place and they were at events before, so that was a plus. Oh another plus? It's pretty inexpensive. On the app, there is the list of prices (if you mention Yelp!).
We take the 203 out to Chinatown and with some hasty confusion ended up at another "good" place.. which a member of our group accidently called to make an appointment with by mistake, easy mix up.. they're about 10 minutes walking distance away from one another, so at the mistake place (eek..methinksnot) we called over to the real place and asked if we could come in, YES!
We get over there and it's suddenly much brighter and not so sketchy looking. Yup.. isaidit. They take us almost right away into the same room with four chairs (later I find out they turn into beds), but here we are thinking it's a waiting room (see my photo, caption now incorrect). They file in with buckets of hot water and they wrap our feet up and blanket us down.
There are no doors inside the rooms, just a half curtain. It made me feel comfortable but also weirded out, I don't relax in general never mind during a massage but the more traditional spa massages I've gotten over the years were undressed and alone.. this was clothed and in a group setting. I can totally understand why though with the possible creeps in the area and all the laws regarding that type of thing.
The girls worked in a synchronized swimming type of assembly line and it was alright, when they had pushed the bed all the way down and I was motioned to turn over I was so confused and the whole while I was like how is she going to get my back but ah-ha! The thing turned into a bed, she placed a disposable towel there where the hole was and voila! My back! So.. about the back, it was like acrobatics up in there.. honestly I was just laughing and questioning "Can I walk by and see what this looks like with 4 ladies on top of 4 girls backs..?" She was like balancing up on my shoulders and kicking everywhere with her knees.
It was a different experience, we were glad we went. I felt more sore afterwards than prior to going there. The price was worth it including tip it was about $40 for an hour. See, not bad and I gave 20%.
