If you do it right, this park is amazing. I was here the first weekend in Oct, which is just a week or two too early- when the leaves change color, this place must be spectacular.
Instead of hiking all day, we mapped out which specific things we wanted to see and drove to them. The great thing is there is usually parking and a 1-2 mile loop around the key areas. For example, we drove to the falls and the lookout, both in different areas of the park, but were able to complete nice walks at each location. If you don't want to hike all day long (but you can, of course) keep that in mind! Fair warning though, all the bathrooms are repulsive. But at least they have them, right?
