I had my annual service done at Westowne Mazda last week ($300). During the service they service technician called me to inform me of several items that needed to be done; all new 4 tires, cabin air filter, rear windshield needs repair, rear brakes replaced, brake fluid flush, wheel alignment, dust boots.. quoting me a estimate of over $800 not including taxes or the price of 4 new tires (and then didn't mark the tread ware on my service receipt). Get a second opinion when you deal with this dealership. I went to KIPLING TIRE and the certified mechanic informed me: 1. your tires are totally safe for another season. 2. Cabin air filter is in good condition. 3. Rear brakes are sparkling and no need to replace. 4. Dust boots , checked all applicable and could find NO issue (quoted $170 by Mazda). 5. Rear windshield wiper totally functional. 6. A brake fluid flush is done at 100 km or 5 years ... I am at 64km, 4 years. Why did Mazda say I needed this ? This abuse of customer trust is what gives dealerships their horrible reputation for ripping off good customers. You just lost me, Mazda. Shame on you.
