| - Loved the feel of this restaurant. Mom, brother, hubby and I came here for dinner one of the nights we were in Vegas, on advice from the chef at Other Mama. Thankfully, reservations were not hard to make.
If you're familiar with Balthazar in NY, it reminded me very much of that restaurant. It was busy/buzzing but not pretentious or snobby. Our server was a rarity - a handsome, 50-something, funny/flirty French guy. I wish we had him at all the French restaurants we've been to. Even mom couldn't get over his looks lol. Between him and the helpers, we wanted for nothing the entire evening. (Although he did try to make me feel bad about getting tap water for the table when I ordered sparkling for myself.)
To start, we went with the special bread and butter to which our server said he wanted our opinion on how it compared to the regular bread service. The fancy butter was definitely more flavorful. But both were delicious and we ate a buttload.
We also ordered the beef tartare and foie gras parfait. Both also very delicious. I'm a huge fan of both dishes in general and Bardot does them well. We sure did layer on that foie gras parfait very thickly...yum! Mom got the French onion soup and she loved it. She shared a little but otherwise, went to town on the pastry crust and soup.
To be honest, at this point, we were feeling really full already (especially mom) but we still hand our entrees coming. Mom and hubby both got the 14oz ribeye with fries. I got the duroc pork chop to be different.
Mom's ribeye was pure decadence. So much marbling and so well cooked to the medium rare we asked for. Wow. My pork chop was also very delicious though I should have gone with my instincts and asked for it to be done at medium instead of well done.
We were so stuff we had to skip dessert. Our server understood completely.
Fantastic dinner, pristine service and wonderful time had by all. Love it!
