  • WORST.VENUE.EVER. I've been to this place a few times...1 time willingly, twice after because I 'needed' to see these 2 bands...I swear though, never again. The problems I have with it are: 1) the layout. Its WAY TOO LONG, with POLES obstructing view! At one concert I was packed in so much that I couldn't even get people to move around me so that I was facing FORWARD. Taller scary men were pouring their beer on me as I tried to SQUEEZE past in order to get to the back where there was more breathing room...but ZERO sightline. If you have platform shoes, WEAR THEM to this place. Problem 2) It SOUNDS HORRIBLE in there. Its like it's not loud enough or something. It's off. You can't just slap on a name like "The Sound Academy" and then have sh!t sound. Garbage. I wish this venue would go back to being a dance club or whatever it was before, b/c as a concert venue? It's downright disgraceful.
