We were going to stay at TheHotel (Mandalay Bay) but based on the reviews here I switched our 4 night trip over to Palms Place. We stayed at the original Palms before and liked the resort layout. It is a little off the strip and a taxi is needed to get around, but in our case we usually take one to get from one place to another rather then walk the long distances in heels (her not me:).
We got to the front desk around 4 pm on Friday and a swift check-in had us walking into one of the nicest Vegas rooms I have been in.
A beautiful full kitchen, we stopped at a party store, so a full size refrigerator was stocked with beverages. A huge living room with a 42" flat screen and fireplace, a guest bathroom, the main bathroom with a huge walk in rain shower and dual sinks and the bedroom Ahhhh the bedroom. A very comfortable king bed , a another 42" flat screen, lots of closet room , a safe and the Large soaking whirlpool TUB....in the bedroom. All of this with a unbelievable view of the strip. (they have mountain views also). and a huge balcony looking down on the pool.
My GF was impressed with the Aveda products , the fluffy robes and the lighted seating area for getting ready .
We visited the smaller Palms Place pool and the larger Palms pool. Both very nice with very good drink/food service. Layout chairs can be in short supply, so if you want all day access, rent a day bed or cabana.
The room was spotless and was well maintained. Housekeeping was great when we asked for evening service a couple of times.
We ordered room service once and it arrived in 40 minutes and was hot and as tasty as anywhere I have been.
N9NE Steakhouse was great and we had breakfast at the 24/7 cafe several times and it was fine for casual dining.
These units are 1200 sf condos that either did not sell or their owners let the Palms lease them out when they are not there. There is a walk way to the main Palms resort, a short 5 minute walk.
There was just the two of us on this trip, but if you wanted a party location , this would be it. We saw several groups unloading lots of party supplies .
We really enjoyed the low key lobby and front desk area, rather then the cattle call at a lot of other resorts.
This place was beyond our expectations, we will be back
