OMG! I just read all the terrible reviews of this place and almost glad I was turned away before dental work was done. When I arrived for my first appt, the front office staff, Lauren, reviewed what would be done - cleaning, exam and X-rays. I indicated that I would postpone X-rays for a month as I may be pregnant. She went to communicate this to the dentist, Dr. Leila Ghafouri. To my surprise, she came back stating, the dentist refused to see me for anything until I agreed to have X-rays. I was livid! I had made arrangements for child care for a 7am appointment, arriving 15 min early and now was being turned away because I did not want to take risk of getting X-rays!? The irony is that they actually have a warning disclaimer on their consent form about the risk of radiation exposure to pregnant women when getting the X-rays. And I have gone to a dentist during my first pregnancy before I was showing and they had no issues with not getting Xrays.
After reading all the bad reviews and my own experience, I will be contacting the Arizona Board Of Dentistry. In fact, I have friends who are dentists and having contacting them this weekend confirmed that possibly the only reason for turning me away is that they would not be able to collect as much money from the insurance for a patient during a follow up visit. I am most certainly going to find a more ethical dentist and practice! This one seems to be a money-centric machine with absolutely no concern for their patients.
