  • THIS IS LONG BUT WORTH THE READ!! First of all, I rarely write reviews and definitely never any bad ones. I like to give companies the benefit of the doubt when it comes to service but this was probably the worst and most unprofessional experience of my life. LET ME SAVE YOU TIME, PAIN, AND MONEY, DO NOT GO HERE! I first came to Modern Smiles Family Dentistry when Dr. Jones was the dentist. He was great, told me I needed a night guard, filled some cavities from grinding, and told me overall I was in good health. Fast forward to the next time I went for a cleaning. There was a new dentist who never bothered to introduce himself which should have been a warning from the beginning. He told me my gums were receding terribly and that I had the teeth of a 50 year old (I'm 27). Naturally, I was terrified. He also said I had 2 new cavities which he fixed on the spot and was very rough with my mouth, even the hygienist was flinching with me. For the next week, I was in severe pain so I rescheduled. The dentist told me that he needed to drill down the filling more which ended with my mouth bleeding terribly and I was close to tears. I now had a huge gap between the 2 teeth he worked on but he informed me the gap would close. WELL IT NEVER DID. About 6 months later, I was back in excruciating pain but had moved to St. Pete, Florida for work. I found an UPSTANDING dentist here (Dr. Klein) and he said the whole filling was done incorrectly and that it had all cracked. Insurance will not cover the same filling in that short of a span because they are supposed to last much longer. I called Modern Smiles to inform them of the situation..... Anastasia (not really sure what her role is since she told me on the phone she runs the show) proceeded to tell me that it was my problem. She then tried to blame it on the previous dentist I hadn't seen in over a year. When I protested, she began SCREAMING at me things I will not post on here. My new dentist, Dr. Klein, called them and emailed them photos of my mouth and the horrible fillings. Lastly, I was informed by Dr. Klein that my gums looked fine and that while I do need to wear a night guard, my teeth were no where near 50....WONDER IF I EVER EVEN HAD A "CAVITY" Anastasia should never have spoken to me the way she did and they should have owned up to their mistake. I hope readers will take this review seriously and find a more reputable dentist! 600 EXTRA dollars later, tooth is fixed...PICS TO COME!
