| - This will be my first one star review on Yelp. I never thought I'd have to write a one star review as I usually know even bad experiences can be on off's and I hate to bring down a company's reputation or air out grievances. However, that's gone out the window with 1st Choice. Worst experience I've had with any service company in the ten years I've lived in AZ.
Like everyone else's 1 Star review I too was only connected to 1st Choice via my home warranty. On the New Years' Day after three days of living in our first home, my wife and I decided it would be a good time to start washing our clothes. Well the laundry room flooded out. We called our warranty company and on 1/4/16 got a call from 1st Choice. They gave us a 2pm-6pm window for 1/6/16. OK, I thought, I'll pay the 60 dollars and we'll get it fixed...
Well it wasn't until 8:30pm that their plumber got out to our house. He snaked the P-trap are of our laundry line for about thirty minutes. The problem didn't go away. I was then told the issue was that the pipe hose wasn't long enough and that we may need to break down the wall and install a longer length of pipe. We'd need a follow up appointment...
I then called to get this scheduled and was repeatedly told I would be called back to confirm another appointment and was never called. I had to take time out of small breaks I get alloted at work to get them to do a follow up for 1/13/16. I again was given the same 2pm-6pm window. Again 8pm rolls around and no plumber shows. I get a half-hearted apology and a reschedule for 1/14/16. Same window. YET AGAIN no plumber shows. This time I am begging them to just fix it and I agree to wait out a plumber who doesn't show until 10:30PM! And then this guy says he can't fix it, tells me about doing smoke tests, asks me where my sewer line is, and points out a washout that wasn't snaked. Again I am told a THIRD visit would be needed. Still naively trusting 1st Choice I again get rescheduled, this time making them schedule me for today, 1/16/16.
Well I get an 8am-Noon window this time and a call from one of their dispatch ladies at about 10:45am. She says that I was recommended for a camera and that 2-10 (my warranty company) won't cover it. I proceed to tell her that I never entered into any discussions about a camera but still being ignorant, I said I just want my issue fixed.
Well my wife saw how upset I was getting and started looking at Yelp and found these other 1 star reviews. We ended up going with a plumbing company called $59 Rooter and Plumbing which had all 5 star reviews. Ron, the owner and plumber fixed the issue with a proper snake from our roof vent (which 1st choice never even knew or told me about) and the issue was resolved in a HALF HOUR. I wasted nearly THREE weeks with 1st Choice. Just like everyone else here I was duped. If you ever get this company assigned to you by a home warranty provider DO NOT let them come to your house or face the same aggravation and shadiness that I and every other reviewer here has faced.
What's even more insane is that 1st Choice told my warranty company there was sludge in our pipes to get THEM to pay for a camera snake. Unreal. Not only were they trying to deceive me, but my warranty company as well
