  • This review is LONG overdo! This place is wonderful and the people that work there are too! We moved from California recently, and I needed to find a good vet for our sweet boxer, Torii. She has skin allergies and has been on Apoquel for about 2 years now, but our concern is that it was no longer working at the dose she had been on. She would itch and cause scabs like you wouldn't believe. We have tried everything. And I truly feel she started to just not enjoy life because all she would do it ITCH! Well, insert Animal Medical Center or Chandler....God sent! For real though. Dr. Duregger is who we saw on our first visit. She was wonderful and got down on the floor with Torii and loved on her. We discussed her history and she listened to what we had been doing for her in the past. She immediately said to me that we can increase her dose. I was in shock, because I was told she hadn't increased in weight yet to do that. Well with her weight of 52, she can have a little bit more! Yay! So we started her on that. She did recommend if I didn't see a big improvement in 2 days to call them back so we can add a short course of steroids to help bring the inflammation down. Torii also was diagnosed with a double fungus ear infection, which she gave me drops for too. Well I called back because even though I did see an improvement, it wasn't huge like we were all looking for. And since her allergies were out of control, we decided to start her on a course of prednisone. And I have to say, she was a better dog! Playful! Eating much better! Just all around happy! I came back for her 2 week follow up and saw Dr. Stickland, another great doctor. She was great with Torii too. She even clipped her claws for me! She went on to explain that if this medication continues to work at it's new dose we can have a new and improved dog! Both doctors mentioned my other options in the future. I thought I didn't have any! They seem like they are well educated with up and coming medicine and treatment which I like. They aren't stuck in the dark ages and just go with what they know. They take the time to research. The staff was so lovely and kind. I even got calls the day after both visits asking how Torii was doing. I was shocked! She didn't have surgery! She just went in for a visit. The place was clean, modern technology and I totally found our new veterinarian for Torii!
