| - On my last morning in Phoenix, we hopped on some bikes and pedaled over to Bragg's, which is conveniently located on a street with good bike lanes. They have bike parking right outside, which also made it easy for me to keep an eye on our bikes.
The place is tiny, but larger than I expected based on reading other reviews which led me to believe they could only seat 15 people. There were seats for at least 20 people inside, and they had a couple of small tables outside, as well. Even at prime brunch time on a Sunday, the place was not crowded, and we were seated right away.
I really loved the feel of Bragg's. Everything was cute shabby chic, with mismatched cups and plates, and each table has its own kitschy set of salt & pepper shakers. Our server had a cute apron and helped us figure out what I could eat.
Although they have several vegan options and several gluten-free options, they do not necessarily overlap. The tofu scramble is vegan but not gluten-free, which was very disappointing (especially since you'd think a place called Bragg's would be happy to use Bragg's Liquid Aminos instead of soy sauce), and the gravy for the biscuits is vegan and gluten-free, but the biscuits are not. So the only vegan and gluten-free option was hash browns with gravy on top. Fortunately, it was very tasty. They also had a slice of a vegan, gluten-free tart left over from the previous day, so I bought it and took it with me. It was not as tasty as those hash browns with the gravy. They seem to have different baked goods every day, so there should be other vegan, gluten-free options available...just not on Sunday.
