| - First time at Massage Envy and took advantage of their first time customer offer for 1.5 hour massage at $57. I was dying for a massage that Sunday, so I called around for a place that can take me.
The Venue: Limited parking shared with other businesses like, Starbucks and Jamba Juice. Actual place was surprisingly big on the inside. Several rooms, with dimly lit hallways. Place where I can see was clean and amply quiet. There were a couple of times during my session when a loud banging noise somewhat startled us. Coming from the room next door. The rooms are so dark.
The Service: Spa was a bit late so I went over by 10 minutes. I had a 90 minute massage, custom between Deep Tissue and Swedish. My masseuse was a young lady who was very friendly. So friendly, that she sometimes missed out on queues when I just want a quiet experience. She gave a good massage, and was able to find the kinks that were bothering me for sure. It hurt of course, but it was a good hurt that I felt the benefit even a few days after. She does not use enough moisture though, you have to tell when you want more lubrication. In speaking to her, found out that she has only been with Massage Envy for 6 days and fresh out of school.
It was economical, and service was good for the price I paid. For my 2nd visit though, price will double unless I sign up for a membership. And at that price, I know I can get better service and experience for a little bit more, else where. At checkout, the receptionist did not push me to sign up, when all I said was I would like to learn more about it before doing so, by going online. I did not get the push, most likely because it was already 12 minutes after closing time.
