| - I'm still not sure if our experience was perhaps a joke for a TV show. The service here cannot be stated as poor. It can only be described as bizarre and not a serious effort. If this were a skit on TV, you would say, impossible. Could never happen in real life.
Dinner today at Weiss Deli. The server finally took our order once we asked. I asked for my beverage, and the appetizer first. Neither ever arrived before the food. I asked twice more for my beverage. The response each time was "he is getting it". I never quite understood who 'he' was. It finally came, but only halfway through my meal. Guess he finally got around to it.
The appetizer never came. We asked, she said she forgot. I guess with all the fun in the back room, it's easy to forget. You see, the staff could be heard throughout the restaurant loudly talking and laughing in the back area. This is while we wait and wait for service? I felt bad we were such a nuisance, it surely will never happen again.
During the meal, no sighting of the server at all. Nothing such as 'do you need anything else', or 'is your food ok?' We did need some things, but figured, what's the use unless we get up and go into the kitchen.
As we ate, one guy stacking chairs in half the restaurant, mopping floors, etc. Are you KIDDING ME? Who does this while customers trying to eat a nice meal? I felt like I was eating in a bathroom. Blatant disregard for customers.
I would like to share with the owner that although it might be difficult to find decent help, you have missed the mark completely. I cannot believe this could be your customary level of service, and hope you are as shocked reading this, as we were with the level of service. You need to take action immediately and find staff that understands how to deliver at least mediocre service. But surely, for the prices, your customers ultimately deserve good service.
There is no need for the food review. It doesn't matter how the food was, because no sensible person would go back and subject themselves to this nonsensical theater of the absurd.
