| - My husband and I drove from Tucson to eat real Puerto Rican food that I didn't have to cook myself lol. We went with our son and his wife, (our daughter-in-law had never been to a Puerto Rican restaurant before). Well I was raving about mofongo which I love, and my son was dying for a sandwich cubano. My husband and I ordered the mofongo. I've had mofongo in New York, Puerto Rico, Orlando, Miami, my mama's etc and I've never had mofongo with malt vinegar sprinkled all over the top. It was gross! The carne de cerdo or pork chunks were so dry, it was terrible. My son's sandwich cubano wasn't good either, they used sliced thin grocery store ham and dry pernil(pork) All the good sandwiches I've ever had, have thick baked virginia ham and nice moist pernil, with mustard and pickles. my poor daughter-in-law didn't comment til afterwards, she was disappointed. This was at the beginning of the year and we've never been back. The owner however was very nice, that was the only bright spot. Sorry for dissing a fellow boricua, but the food is just not good, and that is an understatement! We definitely will never go back.
