| - First, let me say this was always my absolute favorite place to eat, but this last time was an enormous disappointment. The restaurant is great... Open, airy and sunny, with a view of the pool. Like going on a mini vacation over the lunch hour. Parking is easy and close. It's quiet and not crowded for weekday lunch. Simon USED TO BE fast service with some of the best Sushi in town. Which is why my last experience is such a fall from grace. First tip off was a new, and much more limited, menu. Service was painfully slow, even though we were one out of maybe 6-8 tables. Took forever to even take our order. Got a Margherita pizza for an appetizer, and it was hot and delicious. That was the only thing in our meal that was. At our table of 4, the Rainbow roll was not very fresh tasting or smelling, the famous crispy rice tuna squares had none of their usual flavor, the turkey Reuben was dry and inedible, and the sliders were cold. Nobody at our table had a good meal and two of us left hungry after not being able to choke down the cold and dried out sandwiches. Our waiter offered to redo our meals, but we had already been gone from the office over an hour, so no time to remake our food. People have said Chef Kerry is in poor health, and we can't help but wonder if he's no longer in the kitchen, or if there was some other change in culinary staff. Perhaps it is The Palms' recent ownership change. Whatever is going on, we left heartbroken that our favorite lunch spot's time seems to have come to an end. I do hope someone steps in FAST and can bring things back to their formerly consistent level of quality and customer delight.
