I've always wanted to try Milk Bar and luckily one opened up on the west coast! Make sure to ask for samples of their famous soft serve since there's 3 flavors you can choose from (Cereal Milk, Fruity Cereal Milk, and Crack Pie). I unfortunately found out about the samples after we ordered the classic Cereal Milk but I actually liked the Fruity one the most.
The Soft Serve really does taste like milk! I liked the texture the cornflakes added but my boyfriend didn't. It was a nice dessert but I can't justify $6 for a cup of ice cream again.
We also got 3 cookies (Corn, Compost, and Cornflakes Chocolate Chip Marshmallow cookie) for $8 and a slice of Crack Pie for $6.
- Corn Cookie - I loved the soft, chewy texture of the cookie but I found the smell of corn too overwhelming for me to finish the cookie ):
- Compost Cookie - it's selling point is a mix of salty and sweet but I don't remember it being such a great mix. It was a delicious cookie though and has the consistency of an oatmeal cookie.
- Crack Pie - This was my favorite item to eat. Soft goodness with a perfect amount of sweet filling and a crispy oat crust. My huge complaint about this though was that it's such a tiny slice for $6!! I could buy so much more with that money elsewhere.
I think Milk Bar is something you gotta try once for the hype and move on with your life. It's too ridiculously priced for me and I think would be worthwhile if the dessert were half the price!
