| - This used to be the only ride that scared me on planet Earth.
It wasn't the height (parked on top of the Stratosphere tower, you would think that was it but I'm not scared of heights) for me, it came down to one thing, but here's the skinny overall:
On top of the Stratosphere, there are 4 rides. I haven't been on the X-Scream or Insanity, roller coaster rides that dangle you/tilt you over the edge of the tower. But you can buy a package that includes Big Shot and Sky Jump, which is a great money saver.
Big Shot shoots you up in the air at 3 G's, then at the top you experience a complete lack of gravity, then get sucked back down at 1 G. So if it's not the height, or speed itself, what was it that used to scare me so bad?
It was the anti-gravity part.
Whatever is happening wiring-wise in my head, the sudden loss of gravity/weightlessness makes me think insane thoughts. Like, you wouldn't want me to have a sharp object while I'm sitting next to you, kind of insane thoughts. I hope NASA doesn't suddenly call me for a space mission because I would definitely get space sickness and Steve Buscemi all over people.
So a couple of days ago, I did it for the 9th time and...it didn't scare me at all. I did lose my gourd a little bit as usual at the top, but it was manageable. Basically, if I had to be the one to blow up the meteor instead of Bruce Willis, I would have at least a 50/50 shot of completing the mission.
