| - I walked away stunned at my experience. I am a new mom and received the gift of a facial for Christmas from my thoughtful husband. His goal being an hour away to focus on just me and "relax". I do not consider my experience relaxing....
1. The aesthetician was late. I sat in their waiting room for 20 minutes. I saw her walk by in her coat 10 minutes past the time my facial was supposed to start. Then she came back to get me, no apology for the delay.
2. She told me to get undressed and then came back in with coffee (which was interesting me and seemed unprofessional)...but this is when it all started to go South. I also noticed her coat had what looked like food all over it and was wrinkled. Again, unprofessional.
3. She looked at my skin and shamed me for 5 minutes about how dry and "unmanaged" it was. When I told her what kind of facial products I use at home her response was "that's not a good one". She then let me know that she would "do what she could but the facial wasn't going to do much". So again, for a new mom I'm lucky if my face gets washed at the end of the day with anything other than a baby wipe. I get 1 hour to "pamper" myself and I get shamed and feel like I'm just disgusting to the aesthetician. The opposite of feeling pampered or relaxed.
4. She put the steam on my face for literally 20 minutes. Fine, maybe my skin required it. However, she sat in the treatment room on her PHONE! It wasn't even on silent. I could hear her texting and then playing some game from the sounds of it. She checked on my once during the process and said it needed a few more minutes and then returned to her phone and coffee. I'm paying to feel pampered. If you're going to steam someone's face for a third of the facial time shouldn't you be doing some sort of message or something?
5. After she steamed my face for 20 minutes she did the extraction. At the conclusion she put a cream on my face and said she was going to let me "relax for 7 minutes". She told me she'd "be right back, I'm going to go get myself some coffee, don't get up". Again, I'm paying for HER to be doing services on me and not sitting on her phone or getting herself coffee.
6. The message at the end (for about 5 minutes total) did feel great and I was finally able to relax. At the conclusion of the facial she told me I needed to come back and see her for 2 additional treatments, at $85 a piece. Please, I'm not going to spend another dime with her. Ever.
7. The last piece, just completing my entire experience when she left the room for me to get dressed I could hear her talking about me to someone on the other side of the door. Again, leaving me feel embarrassed and shamed.
Ultimately, this was a gift that my husband thoughtfully purchased. We do not have a ton of extra money to spend on pampering ourselves so he purchased it on Groupon. I felt like I was a second class citizen because I didn't pay "full price". Thank God I didn't spend $85 for someone to check their phone and get 2 cups of coffee down (She acted like my 11:30 appointment started at 5am). I would have really been fuming. I'm not wanting my money back-I don't even expect a response from this place. I just advise against going here...ever...EVER. Thoroughly disappointing. I would have rather spent the hour with my 6 month old daughter. Unfortunate.
