I walked in to have the glass on an i Phone 6 plus replaced. This was the first time I've ever had a screen get cracked. They did it in about 25 minutes for a fair price (about $100). I picked it up and paid for the repair. Within a few hours, I noticed that the touch ID button was no longer working and the new screen was far more sensitive. They didn't mention either of these possibilities.
After powering it off and on a few times (yeah! internet trouble shooting), it works most of the time now but I am still having issues with it weeks later. I've had to reset the fingerprints several times.
The new screen is also CRAZY sensitive and not very accurate anymore for typing. The other day I put the phone in my purse and it proceeded to make two random calls. It can no longer be used as a phone as if it comes into even the slightest contact with your face, it will pick up random button presses while you are talking or switch the phone to mute/speaker etc. I even tried a full restore to see if it was a software glitch. No luck.
It also seems like the battery is draining far more quickly, but that could be unrelated or just me being annoyed with the phone.
After some investigating on the web, I found that this is a very common issue with the Touch ID button not working on replacement screens and the overly sensitive touch features after screen replacement. Since they replace these all day long, they really should have said something like "Please power your phone off, wait 5 minutes and power it back up before you use it." I am disappointed that after doing the repair (the more environmentally sound choice), I still find myself having to order a new phone. I just can't use this phone for business with these ongoing issues, nor can I pass it down to a family member.
