| - Went in for a booster for my tetanus (tetanus-diphtheria-pertussis) booster since i had not had one in over 10 years, and since it was covered by OHIP, I figured I'd do it.
Well, they swiped my health card (thus paid) but I made the mistake mentioning I was headed for travel soon, so they added a travel fee after wards for some consultation I did not ask for that was going to cost $69 + tax.
After asking pointedly 5 times whether this was able to be waived, they finally acknowledged it was an "option".
Later, the doctor tried to get me to request a form to prove I had the immunization (which I didn't need) for another $20. I said no, it wasn't required. She finally gave me the vaccine, but dribbled half of it down my arm. When it was time to discard the used needle, the clinic (which was a nice looking clinic) wasn't even fitted with a proper disposal bin that I thought all clinics were to have when you administer injections. She had to collect everything and go to another room.
It was sketchy as heck, and I felt like I was getting the shake down. And after they realized I wasn't milkable, they made me feel like I was wasting their time. They made me feel worthless. I regret them even being able to get the fee for seeing me. Sorry taxpayers that some of your money went to this clinic.
