Stopped into Mrs. White's Golden Rule the first time in a few years. This local joint has been a staple in Phoenix since 1964!! I use to stop in here several times a year when working in the downtown area.
Today I opted for the same dish I use to always get: Catfish, rice w/gravy, and green beans w/ potatoes. Just as good as I remembered and what I was hoping for. Portion sizes are smaller than they once were but are now a perfect portion size for a full meal. Catfish had a good crunch with the fish still being moist and tender. The gravy could use some more salt & pepper but the green beans with potatoes were great.
Decor wise: this restaurant is about as simple as it gets. Plating is also simple but has improved over the years. The real star here is the food as it should be. Highly recommended this Phoenix staple when in the downtown area.
