BEWARE!!! Do not allow anyone you love to die nor suffer serious injuries before you jump; there will be NO REFUND NOR ACCOMODATION. For Christmas, I purchased gift certificates for my son and his girlfriend (both early 30's) who love to skydive. She died unexpectedly in March. Son took up hiking and climbing to cope and took a huge fall at Red Rock Canyon in May. Broken bones both feet, left hand and bilateral open fractures of both ankles (one ankle rice krispied). Now out of a wheelchair (four months later), he can now bear weight on one leg and still wants to return to skydive.
A wise man once said that any rule without an exception is unfair. He explained that it was impossible for any human to consider every situation. You already know what happened.
Mid-September, I called, explained the circumstances and asked for a refund. Response: NO. Realizing I did not check on expiration, I called again. Response: NO. I was told that I could give the gift certificates to someone else. I do not have to obtain the gift certificate emailed to the person who is now deceased as they care only about the code.
Initially, I thought fine; it is their business and their rule...then I remembered it is my money and my life. So, I will purchase my first jump and gift jumps to another owner who can be grateful for life, customers and the ability to have a business.
