Free ride!
Well, the ride isn't free but we scored some free tickets! Got to ride the High Roller at the LINQ courtesy of Jeff Civillico during one of his "Comedy In Action" shows at the LINQ Hotel & Casino but he will move to a permanent location at Bugsys Cabaret inside the Flamingo Hotel & Casino in 3 days, Sept 20, 2015. Separate review of the show... http://www.yelp.com/biz/jeff-civillico-comedy-in-action-las-vegas-3?hrid=Vxrgy9xYS79w-hMhzc6lwg&utm_source=ishare
Anyway, we had front seats during the show and hubby was called to be one of the participants in the unicycle act. He was given two free voucher tickets to the High Roller. Awesome!
The tickets were somewhere in the $35 range each for a night ride but cheaper rate in the daytime. We went that same evening after the show. This giant Ferris wheel doesn't stop during operating hours, it just moves very, very slowly and you just hop in one. The pods were pretty roomy inside with seats and handle bars. There were TV screens that give interesting stats about the High Roller and as you ascend you get a panoramic view of the Las Vegas Strip. There is even a countdown when you reach the very top elevation of the High Roller. You get a 360-view of the strip of the city lights. Each pod holds about 40 people. One revolution takes about 30 minutes and, um, no restrooms on board.
Although very cool experience this is a one-time ride for me and I'm good with that. I can say that I rode the High Roller observation wheel at the LINQ and Jeff Civillico paid for it :)
