| - One Barrel Brewing Company has a beer called Banjo Cat? And they sell t-shirts featuring said beer? Game over.
One Barrel was on my short list of breweries to visit while in Madison with good reason. So many different beers on tap my friend and I had to order three flights (4 beers each) in order to try them all. We had Penguin (American pale ale), The Commuter (kolsch), 5th Element (rye IPA), Copper Stag (amber alt), Flemish Giant (weizen), Fairy Tale Ale (saison with cherries), Hop City (IPA), Centenni-Alt (centennial hop altbier), Gentry's Own Best (dry hard cider), Baby Rockbiter (sour with ginger and apricot), Big Bang Meringue (tart witbier) and of course Banjo Cat (india black ale).
I was not a fan of the Baby Rockbiter, Big Bang Meringue or Fairy Tale Ale because they were a bit too sour/tart for me. I did enjoy the cider. My favorite really was the Banjo Cat, though. And I'm not just saying that because I bought a t-shirt.
Service was very friendly and attentive. Our bartender chatted us up about our day around Madison and was very nice. Not a lot of tables for seating but the bar is almost the entire length of the room. I can see it getting very crowded. Luckily we didn't have that problem.
