  • I used to live in Point Breeze and was a member to this gym, for the convenience factor. I am still a member of LA Fitness, but have moved and I bumped down to the cheaper membership (meaning I can't use this gym anymore). The only thing I sometimes miss is the convenience - this is one of only two LA Fitness centers in the city. The quality of some of the machines is definitely nicer here than you find at other LA Fitness locations. However, it is a zoo! I would always have to wait to use cardio equipment. It drove me nuts! It is nice that they also have basketball courts and a pool, but most LA fitness centers outside of the city have those as well. And they do offer free parking in the garage behind the gym, which is a nice perk that isn't offered at the South Side location.... But I would sometimes have to wait for over half an hour for an elliptical machine. That's nuts. I don't think this gym is worth the extra money, unless you literally live next door. Otherwise, just get a cheaper membership and go to one of the other locations.
