| - E-Z car does seem to handle rentals like most of the other companies. You have to show up within one hour of your reservation or they apparently cancel it. We all know how late flights can be, so this is a big problem for me. When it's not "busy season" they apparently hold the car for two hours...big whoop. With the bus that you have to take to the counter etc, the chances that you are going to be "on time" for your EZ rental is 50/50 at best. And this is how they can get you....by telling you "Sorry, your reservation was cancelled, but luckily for you we do have other cars available!". (Yeah right, at much higher prices than you reserved).
One other thing to know is that they charge a full day if you bring the car back a minute late. Other companies usually have a grace period, or an "extra hour" charge added on, not an extra day.
Also, other companies, when they don't have the "compact" car that you reserved, will figure it's their own fault and will give you the bigger car at the same price. That doesn't seem to be the case here, at least not with the person we saw checking in before us . They told him they're sorry, but they don't have any cars of the size that was reserved, but they do have larger cars at a higher prce.
Shady? Well, not really, it's right on their website which pretty much states "a reservation doesn't guarantee you anything". Check it out for yourself. So, buyer beware. Hopefully you'll have a good experience but this is good information to know. I wish I'd known it before renting from here. Read the fine print! Then read it again!
