| - As someone who did not make a lot of money for a long time, Woodman's has long been my go-to grocery store. What it lacks in ambiance it more than makes up for in price and variety.
+ pick any item, it's more than likely going to be cheaper than you'll find at other grocery stores in Madison
+ pick any item, there will probably be five different brands to choose from
+ need something a little more out of the box? - they've probably got it whether it's a house ware, ethnic food item, or local brand
+ huge liquor store attached for your convenience, as well as a gas station
- their produce and bakery aren't my favorites, but with all the money I just saved I can go elsewhere for those items
Woodman's can be a zoo at typical peak shopping times (weekend mornings, the end of a typical work day), but they're open 24 hours so you've got a good range to work the system. Go during Badger/Packer games, or maybe head over at 9 instead of 5:30. Worth the trip, especially if you're stocking up on non-perishables/frozen items.
