| - If you want enjoy a genuinely unique movie experience, then the FilmBar bar is the place to go...
It's a cozy one room theatre, with a bar, a handful of reasonably priced snacks, a few tables and TVs, some super funky local art, it's dimly lit and nothing fancy but that is why I love it so much.... the focus is on the art and joy of watching Independent Films. Most of the movies shown require you to be 21 and older, but they do show an occasional old school family friendly flick. I brought my daughter to see Back to the Future which of course we could just watch again at home but nothing beats a movie on the big screen. I love them all, black and whites, family flicks, seasonal classics but it's the one of a kind, unparalleled, Independent Films that drew me in and keep me coming back for more...
I met my BF here to enjoy a few adult beverages, Monday night dollar popcorn and to watch the bizarre but entertaining movie The Bad Batch starring Keanu Reeves and the beloved Jason Momoa(aka Kahl Drogo) who is a rare art form in himself, am I right ladies....?
I came on a weekend with another friend to see Bryan Cranston in the twisted and thought provoking movie Wakefield. We brought in our own food which they allow, but perhaps we shouldn't have brought in a buffet because space is limited and you need room for your adult beverages. I recommend the peach and the nut brown ale!
Buying tickets this week to see Loving Vincent (the first fully oil painted feature film about the life Vincent Van Gogh) reminded me that I had not yet shared the love of about this unique treasure of a place...
I hope you come and see it for yourself, that you love it as much as I do and that you'll save me a seat!
