We decided to come here because while in Paris we met a nice young man at dinner who was the Wine Director at SW Steakhouse. He gave us his card and told us to stop by when in Vegas. Unfortunately the night we went he was off. Initially when I made reservations I requested seating outside so we could watch the light/water show they have at the Wynn. It was 106° day that day but when we were seated I was very surprised at how cool it was on the patio. It felt like 80°.
We started with a couple glasses of Champagne and the Seafood Spectacular. OMG! We were in heaven. There were huge King Crab legs that were already split and ready to eat, a large lobster tail split in half, 8 huge prawns, a crab salad and oysters. It was $85 which actually was a very good deal for such a fancy place. We also split some sauteed Foie Gras which was very rich and buttery. Foie is my favorite. The bread they serve throughout the meal is also amazing.
We decided to order the 42 ounce chili rubbed ribeye. This is meant for two people. By this point we were already very full and struggled just to eat a few pieces of the ribeye. The ribeye was seasoned very well and was spicier than I expected. It was cooked to perfection but unfortunately we couldn't even come close to finishing it. We also ordered lobster gnocchi and french fries as our sides. Both were very good but hardly touched.
Overall we had a great experience at SW. The service was great from start to finish and the food was what you'd expect from a place with Steve Wynn's name on it. The bill was a little over $400 after tip but is worth the splurge.
