I reached out to this donut shop to do a special order for my wedding partly from yelp reviews and partly because my venue has used them previously. I emailed someone Tuesday (wedding on Saturday) from the email I got from a very nice woman I talked to at this location who also said to just order 24-48 hours in advance. I had to send a follow up email Wednesday. The email I received back made me excited they could do my order, which was actually a surprise for my husband to be, and agreed upon pickup time around 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning of the wedding. They were told my mom or dad would pick up. Steven sent me an invoice that clearly said NOT PAID at the top because I was told I would pay at pickup - perfect I don't have to make an extra trip (this is a "destination" wedding for us).
Fast forward to my wedding day - my mom gets a call while we are all getting ready and is in a bit of a panic. Apparently Father of The Bride gets to the store just about 11:00 and they tell him they have no idea what he's talking about. No orders. So I said is he at wrong store and almost started to blame him . Yes he was. I got on the phone with someone and I can't remember his name now because I was very upset and he basically told me the same thing - so I asked where the manager is and he danced around that question I said where is Steven - oh he's not here he's our marketing something or other. Okay well someone needs to make this right. I'll send my dad a copy of the invoice - with listed pickup time as 10:00 am. Well I didn't have time to worry about it I got extremely upset as this was a huge part of my surprise themed dessert table. Apparently they told my dad he should come back in an hour. First of all - we are on a timeline for a special day. Second of all - we are not locals and my dad only had a car for a certain amount of time until he had to give it to the next family member. He had OTHER things to get done after picking up the donuts including getting them to the venue at by a certain time as well!!!
Trying to make long story short - So he had to UBER back to the place and figure it out from there. I let Steven know how upset I was and he advised me they had an employee call out which means they were behind on the day's orders. I understand things happen - but you call someone in then because not having special orders ready for the time they were supposed to be picked up (and my dad was an hour late!) is completely unacceptable.
This review is not to say their donuts are bad - I don't eat donuts so I wouldn't actually know - but it's to let those of you that may special order to think twice about doing so since they apparently have no way of making things right if something happens -and hope it's not you that ends up with a huge amount of stress on a special day. Make sure you read down a few reviews there's another about special order that they also didn't have.
I am updating this review to say they blocked me on instagram after I made a comment about their "Happy Memorial Day" post. I said I was unhappy with them and instead of trying to make things better they blocked me LOL.
Oh Steven LOL. You replied to me after I "harassed" and threatened" you by telling you I'd be writing ALL the reviews about my experience! I wasn't following your page by the way after I saw your Happy Memorial Day post. As far as "directing" my comments at someone else - this is social media which means you are social and I believe her comment was directed at me to begin with so I have every right to respond (Murica!)
Also the "email contact" you speak of - I had to reach out to you ON MY WEDDING DAY. (Attached pic) Read through your other reviews, I'm not the only one that has an issue - mine just came on the biggest day of my life. It is not fun for me to write bad reviews or to have issues with people but you clearly lack customer service and are my emotions a little upset right now - yes they are but I think people could understand that instead of your not so sincere apology.
