  • Okay, so I literally live a few blocks away from this place. There are so many Mexican options in the area, but I knew this was one we had to try. First of all, the place is tiny inside. We had a 15 minute wait on a Sunday afternoon which was a little annoying, but also proved that they aren't lacking in business. The worst part is that there is literally no where to stand. So we kind of tucked our bodies into a corner and tried to stay out of the way. That was kind of awkward. I was surprised that this was a sit-down restaurant. I was really expecting an order-at-the-counter type of place. In fact, I still think that would've probably worked better. Once we got our table, we were brought a complimentary basket of chips and a tall bottle of water to fill our own cups with. I like that the chips are free (especially since they have all the delicious salsa options), but I was disappointed that you get charged for chips after the first basket. We ordered the guacamole to go with all the salsas and were pleasantly surprised. My husband makes guac at our house all the time and I'm a bit partial to his, so I was excited to try such a refreshing, different take on guacamole. Pretty tasty! For our main course, I ordered the veggie quesadilla and my man ordered the bean and cheese burrito. Both were delicious! I have to admit that I wasn't a fan of the fact that the quesadillas are fried, but the amazing cheese made up for it. I was worried that I wouldn't have enough cheese with all the veggies they stuffed inside, but I was so very wrong. I seriously could not get enough of that cheese! I am craving more right now... I guess one of the downsides to this little place is the fact that it is so packed inside. We literally were just a few inches away from the table next to us (and the guy nextdoor was so annoying!). They also only had two servers scurrying between all the tables so the service was not the greatest. We had to wait awhile for drink refills and the check which was a little disappointing. The food does come out quickly though so if you're hungry, you wont be kept waiting. So yes, I was quite pleased with our first visit to La Condesa. We will be back.
