| - I've attended Second City on a number of previous occasions but recently saw "Live Wrong and Prosper" for a non-baby night out with my Husband.
Second City never fails to amaze me, because its equal parts planning and unplanned; funny and laugh-out-loud funny. Most of all, it's about *our* world and not someone else's and because that's actually kind of depressing at times, it makes it funny. To add to that, in one of those experiences we all have at some point in our lives, you know, the kind where you see someone doing something you thought you would do with your life but didn't moments, a girl I went to high school with is actually in the cast of the show.
This most recent show is quite good, with spins on the American presidential campaigns, divorce rates and infidelity and social media, it's current and it's funny, definitely worth the cost of the tickets to see real people doing real things. And I didn't even think about looking at my iPhone until the intermission!
Don't go to Second City hungry- while they have a full menu, it's all bar food (which is fine) but it's actually way too dark to eat in there (especially things like salsa, when you're wearing a new dress....) without getting it all over you but not knowing until it's way too late.
Do go to Second City for the drinks- they have a stocked bar and alcohol + comedy = comohol (??).
Yay!
