Oh my gosh I've been coming here past year ever since my friend told me about it. Often I have such cravings for their pastry (ah the heavenly cream puff and the creamy puddings!!!) that I drive 45min to come here. Everything I have tried here not only have satisfied me but amazed me. They are a real Japanese pastry shop. Real gem of Toronto. I'm quite sure they will survive in Japanese big cities like Tokyo where competition is harsh. I feel lucky they exist in the area that is accessible to me (45min drive is nothing).
Their cakes are delicate and sophisticated and not at all like those North American style sugary cakes. I once cried over a cake that tastes like a lump of sugar when I first came to Toronto. If MonK existed back then, my new life in Toronto would have been much easier.
