This holiday we chose to visit the Nationality Rooms at the Cathedral of Learning. They are absolutely beautiful, as are the surrounding grounds.
Starting with the great hall - it is very breathtaking! Very Harry Potterish - should you be a fan. There were random students working in corners and in groups. The holiday decorations were large and not overt.
The fee to visit the Nationality Rooms was only $4/person and each couple was issued a hand held, recorded walking tour. Each room on the main floor is exquisite to cultural detail and all of the rooms (working classrooms) seated a varied number of students. From floor to ceiling these rooms are detailed works of art.
Heinz Chapel is visible across the lawn and a small cabin is located on the property as a nod to the origins of the University.
Very beautiful - wish I hadn't waited so long to tour this spectacular Pittsburgh treasure.
