I discoverd this cute little place a couple of weeks ago and was so excited! I was looking for something fun to give my boyfriend for Valentine's Day and was just happy that a cool little business like this opened up in my neighborhood! My friend purchased some cupcakes from another place in the valley for her husband last year so I was curious on how they would compare. I walked in last weekend and bought myself a red velvelt cupcake. At $3 a piece, it is a bit indulgent for me...but figured I'd better give it a try before purchasing for my BF!
So my take: the frosting was DELICIOUS. Like really. YUMMY. The cupcake itself was light and airy and a bit (tiny bit!) on the dry side (just out of the oven - maybe a bit overcooked?). I guess I was expecting more of a dense cake...I'm not a huge cake fan, but when I am that's what I like. So I don't want that to discourage others from trying it. Also - I came in on a Sat. afternoon and there weren't many flavors left and so waited for the red velvet to come out of the oven. I thought I'd be back for V-day, but decided against it.
Overall, the experience was "A-OK" and I'm willing to give it another chance in a few months when they've gotten their feet under them. It's a new business, folks! And it's local...I'm huge into supporting local businesses! Plus it's a nice little treat. I'm sure if you have kids it's probably a great treat for them as they can add whatever toppings they like. Wishing them luck!
