Ward from the Insight Meditation Community of Charlotte has a regular class on Monday nights at 7:30. It starts with a brief talk related to mediation and a half hour sitting followed by q&a. It's a very relaxed and open atmosphere.
There are other classes like these in Yoga studios around town. If you're interested in meditation check out a yoga studio near you for a teacher who suits your style. I like Yoga for Life because it's right on Morehead and the teachers are enthusiastic and patient.
