The best thing about Ramsey Creek Park for me is the fact it offers public boating access to Lake Norman.
The 43-acre park is part of the Mecklenburg Parks & Recreation Department and sports three access ramps.
For a lake that is, unfortunately, largely privatized, this kind of public access is in short supply.
The parking lots are huge and there is plenty of room to park trucks and trailers.
Ramsey Creek also offers public bathrooms, playground, volleyball court, nature trails, two horseshoe pits, fishing pier and a large waterfront picnic area with huge umbrellas that can be reserved for parties.
There is also a beach area that is nice for relaxing by but unfortunately does not allow swimming.
