I travel a lot for work and pick up gold items here and there over seas from time to time in my travels. I decided today that I would check this place out and see about getting some cash for about 10 grams of lose gold and 1/4 carrot worth of small diamonds.
The first thing I noticed when walking into the shop was how dirty it was. For a place that makes its money off scrap gold and jewelry I would have expected better. They could learn something here about making a first impression. I didnt get a good feeling from that start.
I had them sort the gold and test it. The price they came back with shocked me. At the current price for gold today I expected no less than $200 for what I had, most of it being 18k gold in very nice condition. The diamonds were part of a ring and I didnt expect much from them. They offered $130 which wasnt even half of the value of the gold at 14k prices. I refused it and they ask what I wanted for it. I told the lady at the desk no less than $200, and she proceeded to call her "boss" and offered me $180 for it, and as a check. I again refused and decided to just hold onto it. I can get more for it in a private sale.
If your looking for a quick buck then this place will do, but by no means expect fair market value for your gold. If your looking to get something back from an investment, stay clear.
