Simply one of the best Thai places that I have ever had. EVER!
Drove into Vegas on Friday night and arrived around 6 after the wife and mother made a stop and did some damage at the Primm outlets... Only wished they waited to see if there was extra money AFTER the trip from Vegas (sigh)... Called to see if we could sneak in for a reservation and we ended up with one for Saturday night instead. We were set on coming to eat here at least once on every trip.
Stick to the specialty dishes... you won't be disappointed - You can get your Pad Thai and Thai BBQ chicken elsewhere at the cheap corner Thai place back home
We had 5 of us dining together family style and indulged on a few of the house specialties and we were not disappointed.
The Lineup:
Kai Soi Braised Short Ribs
- The meat was flavorful and served with a fried egg noodle in a generous serving of sauce. 4.5 star dish
The Prawns on the Drunken Noodles
- This one was good, but the drunken noodles could have used more flavoring. The shrimp was well seasoned even without mixing it in with the Thai herb/veggie slaw. 4 star dish
Crispy Duck Panang
- This was the favorite of the table. The Panang sauce was delicious and the crispy duck was even better. I could have licked every last drop off of the plate. 5 star dish
Sea Bass on Papaya Salad
- This was a great dish to balance out the vibrant and spicy traditional Thai flavors along with the richness from the curry dish with its delicate papaya salad that had thinly sliced apples and papaya mixed in with grapes and topped with a wonderful portion of Sea Bass. 4.5 Stars
Clean up (aka Dessert)
The combo platter
(They were out of mangos since they said it was out of season)
Sticky rice topped with Coconut Ice Cream
-This was my favorite on the platter!
Fried Bananas
-Another Good one
Thai Custard
-This was a miss for me. It was a little on the thick side and not as delicate as a Chinese custard or traditional creme brulee.
