This your stereotypical upscale night club, complete with a red carpet, where they ask you to stand in line for 30 minutes unless you are on the list. And yes, we did wait in line for 30 minutes even though there weren't that many VIPs...but I guess we helped them look good.
Despite the wait, I did enjoy Butter's posh chandeliers, a grand spiral stairway that led you to the dimly lit dance floor. The dreamy lights and atmosphere gave you an impression of a movie set. The stairway that led you to the dance floor downstairs reminded of one of my favorite clubs in Beijing called Mix, where they have three stories of dance floors.
Their music is heavy on the hip pop and rap. They didn't play many Billboard Top 100 songs, it's less main stream music. Like other nightclubs, people dress up, but much more classily at Butter compared to others. It was fun to people watch here, too.
